It can only take attacking one worker or structure before a hoard of Fighters and Bombers, with a ton of Jedi/Sith and Troopers descend upon you. Because of this, defences and defensive units are a must. Once you set them off they will always send units after you. The one thing the AI never slacks in, is military power. In general, placement seems to be a huge problem for the AI leading to it being very easy to overwhelm them. Had several instances, where they've literally started building stuff near my base and I could easily overwhelm them.
The second, is that the AI builds buildings in random spots. Which means, a Turret and Fortress will only ever be at minimal damage. The first, is that AI players will NEVER garrison units. However, the AI has 2 majorly fatal flaws. The AI also tends to get resources out of nowhere (though it's possible they are just trading with the Spaceport, something you can easily do too), which makes them easily able to send wave after wave of units at you. But as you crank the difficulty up they get set timers where they always do. On the easier difficulties, the AI won't enhance it's Tech Level, until you do. Honestly, the AI is simultaneously stupid as heck, but brutal as hell.
