This is not a quality the Galra empire and Zarkon poses. This along with their ceremony with the Balmera shows an incredible respect and a wish to understand and coexist with the universe they live in. The Altean build their teludavs (wormhole machines) to look exactly like the inside of the weblum. It is usually extracted from the scaultrite into its energy form again, to be used for many things, by civilizations like the Altean and Galra.Īltean have for years researched the weblum’s natural way of using the scaultrite and quintessence energy, we can see this by Coran’s long list of industrial uses for scaultride but also by looking at their teludavs. Quintessence is pure energy that presumingly doesn’t produce any waste materials. But then we can ask, what exactly is quintessence? Well according to a robot soldier Pidge is trying to interrogate it is : Hunk: “So this crystal is basically the hardest thing in the universe to get?”Ĭoran: “I don’t know about the hardest, there is the scaultrite found only in the stomaches of the giant weblums.”Īnd what happens in season 2? Keith and Hunk have an entire episode dedicated to them obtaining the scaultrite from the weblums.īut what is scaultrite? It is basically crystallized quintessence, that is created when a weblum unleashes a massive poisonous energy beam. In the first season episode 5 ‘Tears of the Balmera’ this conversation happens between Coran and Hunk: Examples of this include Keith’s and Zarkon’s battle in the final episode of season 1 where Zarkon says: “You fight like a Galra soldier.”Īnd as we know Galra!Keith was confirmed in the second season.Īnother character known for foreshadowing major events is Coran.

The show has already within the first two seasons foreshadowed major events happening later in the show. There is going to be spoilers for the two seasons that are currently available on Netflix, so if you aren’t caught up yet you shouldn’t continue reading.įirst up I’d like to quickly talk about Voltron and foreshadowing. I have been re-watching Voltron a lot lately and I’ve noticed a good bunch of small dialogues and quickly passed scenes that might connect into a bigger plotline in the upcoming seasons.
